The War of the Worlds

Ogilvy is a man researching mars and how it is cooling off. A meteorite soon hits a small town and is discovered by Ogilvy. Many people seen the meteorite streaking across the sky. Ogilvy examines the meteorite but it turns out not to be a meteorite at all. He suspects something is living inside. Ogilvy contacts Henderson, a local man involved with the newspaper, to come examine the cylinder.

A couple of days later there are tons of people waiting around the mysterious object wondering what it could be. Soon after the excavation a 2 creatures come out of the cylinder and everyone runs. The Martians are soon destroying the town and the towns people whiteout and sign of remorse. The narrator is concerned about the life of the townspeople and how most are unaware. The martians are just destroying out of fear.

The Martians are beginning to work on their machines. Smoke flows up from the pit so humans cannot see what is going on. A second cylinder hits and the military cannot take down the Martians. The narrator discovers the tri-pod like machine. He does not know what it's use is. The machines begin to attack humans using heat rays and other tactics. There is almost no way of escaping the Martians. The martian's cylinders land every 24 hours and are nearly unstoppable. They develop new weapons and tactics to use against humans such as the black smoke.

The town is suffering and fleeing fr the Martians. Many die from the weapons of the Martians and the rest die of fear and running from the martians. Vessels begin transporting people away from the Martians. Thunder child is a warship designed to brig down the Martians. The heat ray is the only thing that brings down the Thunder Child. But before the ship is destroyed it takes it two cylinders. A cylinder lands right beside the narrators house. The Martians make the curate insane and he dies. The narrator is trapped inthe house by a Martian standing gaurd. 

The narrator keeps on learning discouraging news about his home town. The Martians keep on landing faster than anyone could imagine destroying them. They develop new machines and weapons and eventually develop a machine designed for flight. This bring a whole new fear to the narrator. The Martians start dying because they are not immune to an earthy deisease that the humans are immune to. Soon tons of Martians an their machines begin to die off. Soon all of the Martians dies from the disease and mankind is restored. The Martians did leave behind new technology that the humans can use.
